So come on, who's done it?

I'm thinking of getting the train up (Or push up if i can't get the train), and riding down a few times some day. Go on the mini DH, and rip it.

So, who has done it before, and how was it, also is there any routes that are the best?

Rekon the 2.5hr push up for a ride down the highest mountain in the UK worth it?

it's the higest in wales, but nevis is the higest in the uk... followed by plenty other scottish hills... still a cracking ride though, and one of the (if not the) highest bikeable points in the uk

i rode up it a couple of years ago, the llanberis path (maybe pushed 20%) and rode down the rangers path

llanberis path as a descent would be very very quick and fun, a few jumps and loose

rangers is a lot more techy, boulder fields, tight and twisty bits, bigger drops etc but still nicely rideable

...i'm not sure if you can get the train as an uplift with bikes (would be interested to find out...)

Firstly, its the 2nd highest mountain behind Ben Nevis Wink

and as for the train, its a no go, i have tried my best to talk them into it but they wont go for it  Sad

the push up will be more like 4 hours

and in the summer (may to september i think... cant find it on the site..)  there is a MTB ban on the mountain between 10am and 5pm

and you will need to get there early to get up and back down in daylight

Not done it personally, its a good 200miles from me but its a hell of a ride! watch out for ice and snow! even if the weathers good on the day Smiley

oh yeah, the ban, well remembered m.r.

it's more of an agreement, but it's designed to stop bike/pedestrian interface problems

here's a pic of my bike on the summit to keep you going Smiley

i'm off to wales in june i think (for the rough ride) so might try and persuade the missus to give it a go, i'd love to let the meta at it

It is on my list too!

Also got my eye on some other cheeky descents in North Wales, but they will need some clandestine work.....

Been looking at it myself...

Get there at dawn, get up in 2.5-3hrs with some pushing, straight back down again before 10am

Breakfast in Pete's Eats

Job's a good 'un!

Sounds easy  Undecided

Read an article in a mag a while back about 2 lads that started out at 3 or 4am.
Rode/pushed to the top and managed to get back to the bottom at about 9.30am.
This was in summer time and was their way of getting round the voluntary ban.

Take the train?!!!

If you fancy being locked in a small box, rocking, full of screaming hyperactive kids for an hour, go for it!

I did it once, but never again :-)
