I taken a Meta AM out round LLandegla today and I loved it, apart from brand new Fox forks on there that are just utter tosh until the seals have worn in and killed my arms due to no small bump compliance. It climbed brilliantly I did not have to touch the pro pedal lever at all, so I was impressed by that, as I believe if you need pro pedal to go up a hill it is a failure with the suspension design. When I reached the top of the hill I got to find out what it was like going and it really did not disappoint. With the top tube being low I found it easier to move round the bike so weight transfer on cornering was very easy. It taken a while to get used to it but once I did I found manuals very easy on the bike. Jumping was never a chore and I could not notice any harsh bottoming out even when landing on a flat. I did have a few issues with the bike but they where mainly component issues and personal preference. The bottom bracket is low and I did strike a few rocks with the pedals. Rattle from the internal cable routing it is there, it is loud at all but it could frustrate people. The front end tends to lift on steep climbs but that can be sorted with a shorter stem and the seat coming further forward. The main issue I had though was front end grip but as it had the same tyre as I run Nobby Nic 2.25 I know what the tyre can do so I can only put that down to the new fork being new, or due to the fact that I was so hungover I may have forgotten how to ride a bike.

Overall I loved the bike and I am very glad I have ordered a frame, and I know what components I need to get to tailor the ride to my preferences.

Glad you like it Ju. It's always good to get a review from someone who is not a magazine writer.

The rattling can be sorted with a carefully placed ziptie. I believe it is the cables that run through the top of the frame. Pop a ziptie pushed flush to the frame and this should sort it. One of the small issues with internal routing. If you spend a little time I'm sure you'll find a cure.

I have to say, when I rode the Meta AM in France I was quite impressed with the front end grip and could really push it into the berms, even on the slightly dodgy Onza tyres it had fitted. I would  put it down to the forks not being set up/bedded in.

Again, pleased you like it.
