i have oro k18's and 2 sets of wheels but problem is when i swap over wheelset i get rubbing.I thought originally i needed to shim the rotors on one set so bought some syntace rotor shims only to discover that the problem is the thickness of rotors.
I have tried to push pads back as far as poss but i am not sure if they are fully back or whether the pressure is too great in the system.
Can adjustments be made to increase space between pads or will i need to buy new thinner rotors,i could also get the rotors skimmed.

I had to import the rotor shims from the US i could not find any in the UK its weird as loads of people have more than one wheelset.

You could try one of these, but it sounds like you either have too much fluid in your brakes or you are using some odd rotors.. Most rotors are the same thickness.. (with the exception of some Hope ones AFAIK)

I have the original formula rotors which are fine but the rotors that rub are from superstar.
The superstar rotors were really cheap compared to other big brand versions so i guess the only way to make them cheap is make them thicker.
I think if i can open the space between pads wide enough then i will then get too much slack in the levers when using the thinner rotors.
I might just have the discs precision skimmed it wont cost me anything,i reckon 0.1mm will be enough.I will measure them with some vernier calipers.

I'd try bleeding them first mate..

I run superstar rotors on my meta, they have been really good. Much better than the hope / avid and formula ones I have used in the past.

cheers Jimbo
i will try and find out how to bleed them on the Formula website.I also have new superstar kevlar pads so this will also reduces space for the rotor until worn down.

I have formula RX's on my HT.. They are simple enough to bleed.

I think the ss Kevlar pads may be a touch thicker than standard, as I had to re-bleed my avid's after replacing a set not too long back.

I've been running superstar rotors on the meta for some time now.

Any problems I have had have been resolved with a full system bleed rather than anything to do with the rotors.

I have found certain brands of rotors are tighter in certain calipers, so there may be some slight variation in thickness, I think I had avid rotors with saint brakes and they I could never quite eliminate that 'shing' sound where the pad was only just making contact in one spot.
Switched to xt rotors and they were fine.

I expect the industry standard for brake discs has a slight tolerance for thickness.
