Hello,

Looking to replace my stock Race Face Evolve crank on my 06 Meta 5 because the BB is shot and the crank doesn't seem to tighten down properly anymore (slight wobble when pedaling which is not caused by the pedals). Not looking to blow the budget but willing to spend a little for a quality BB and crank.
What would you suggest for a 220lbs (100kg, 15 1/2 stone) rider. At this moment I have the bike set up as a 1X9, but may return to a 2X9 but not 100% sure yet.
Also, if the crank can be found in black is a definite bonus.
Thank you,
Eric

check if the left side arm has come loose from the bolt/axle. The feeling is a slight wobble when pedaling on the left side, so it might be the reason you feel som play. I guess other reasons can be missing spacers or possibly blown bearings, dunno. This happened with my atlas crank and it got replaced under warrenty (upgraded to a xtr real cheap Grin ) In terms of a new crank if it's not replaced under warrenty, get a xt 970 crank from chainreactioncycles or something. Pretty cheap, light, stiff, durable, looks goods, versatile.

thought the 07 model xt suffered excessive wear of the middle ring which is why they changed it for 08?

(I will be in same position as rugbyred soon and am considering 08 xt or superstarcomponents equivalent at £99.99)

Thanks everyone for your responses.
I am going with the Truvativ Holzfeller OCT 2.2. Not sure if it is the RG or AM model. I think the only difference is the bash guard (one is metal, the other is PC). Going with the 26-36 rings.
