Any experiance or ideas if an absolut sx could be used for xc type riding?

I know its more of a slopestyle bike but I was after a more hard hitting short travel xc bike. I currently have a meta 6 which is a bit of a slog to pedal round an xc loop. I can do it easily enough but it feels too much bike for what i'm doing and have a DH bike for more gravity riding/uplifts

MAny thanks

Yes, the actual toptube length on the short is 20" centre to centre - super short but perfect for me  Grin .  Not sure how much bigger the 'long' is.  I use mine for my short commute, d/h and everything in between and love it to bits.  It's no lightweight but pedals well and gets me up most stuff with 1x9 - there's a bit of noticeable bob in the very lowest gears but I guess you'd get that whatever the suspension design.

I'm 5'10" and would go for a long so I would have room to move,

Well i'm in 2 minds at the minute, sell the meta 6 to help fund whistler this year and use my cotic as an xc bike. Or swap for an absolut sx.

Ideally I would love to swap it for something like a mythic spitfire, sort of a Downhillers fun xc bike.

if you like mythic take a look at the rampant, honestly 4x duel suspension  are real fun to ride and handle amazingly well and can be used for everything from xc to dh. as long as your not over 6ft then it would be a bit small. also look at transition double.
