Hi all, just a couple of quick questions. Im thinking about getting a mini dh but was wondering whether anyone could give me a rough idea on how much they weigh, i know they wont all weigh the same but just an average/ball park figure will do. Also what are they like on climbs/trails? Only reason i ask is because it will be replacing my remedy, which is really light and great uphill but im getting more into my dh and freeride now, and ive always wanted a mini dh.

Any advice is appreciated, cheers.

Ps. If anyone would like to swap their mini dh for a 2011 remedy 7 please let me kno  Grin

i'd say a lightweight mini DH is about 34lbs, more heavyweight version is around 38lbs

Mines weighs about 35 or 36 pounds. It's certainly a noticebly heavier than the meta i used to run. I guess thats about the equivelant of a remedy.

For reference i have a home built 2010 small medium supreme frame with a 170mm lyrik coil fork.
For the drive train i have XT 10 speed rear with a 36 single up front(bash chain guide)
For the wheels i have Halo freedom rim/ hope 2 pro hub based wheels with high roller tires. The tires do alter the feel alot im thinking of going for something lighter for the non uplift trails.

It's still easy to pedal uphill though which was one of the main crtieria i had with changing to a DH/freeride bike. Everything but the most technical climbs are easily do-able.
An adjustable seatpost very much helps for the days where you have to do some xc hiking to get to the good stuff.
I keep the short post that came with the frame for uplift days.

Mine is 37.5 lbs mate. That's with DH tyres, coil fork & shock (steel spring) and some burly components. 34 teeth on both chainring & cassette. Not fun uphill, but it gets there.  I blame the engine, not the bike!

I can't lie, my Mini is harder work than the '06 Spesh Enduro it replaced. It's also waaay more fun when pointed downhill! Good luck with your (future) new toy!

though heavier than an SX mine pedals better... a lot better. the pedalling is just to get u to the top... if that's not your intent its the wrong bike for u... I'm faster on uplift days on a supreme 6 than a old demo, it flies. it jumps amazing and it's the best suspension i've ever had. dunno how a single pivot does that. but it does!!

best bike i've ever had. burly build, incl coil totems, about 36 ilbs, feels 32 ish to pedal.

get one if u are of the descending mindset mate
