Can somebody tell me that the 160mm float I've just ordered for my meta isnt going to rip my head tube off ?   A few Of you guys are using 160s. Any problems so far ?

I'll run a fair bit of sag. It's 10mm over the max axle to crown height allowed.

The only time I can think full impact happens at full height is landing off drops right ?

Could have them reduced to 150 I guess.

I've just fitted some 160mm Vans to my Meta..

I can't see there being a massive problem with the extra 10mm

Yup.. (only had a roll around the street so far though)

Going to take it out for a ride tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it differs to my old 140mm vans..

The 36's obviously slacken the whole bike off quite a lot.. I'm really looking forward to pointing down a big descent !

I'll take a couple of pics too so you can see the stance for yourself..

If your that worried about it though, floats can easily be reduced to 150mm AFAIK

First impressions are very good.. But bear in mind, my frame is an XL - if your frame is small then the big forks might not suit it so well.

The bike feels a lot more planted on the front end.  Cornering has certainly been improved too.. For me though, the most obvious improvement is the stance of the bike which is now better suited to descents.

I'm looking forward to a proper ride in the Peaks to test them fully !

I've taken a few photos so you can see for yourself how the bike now sits...

Jimbo - thanks for the write up and the photos. It's looking cool huh.  Mine is a large and since it came with a 150mm fork it'll be interesting to see how much different the stance will be.
Seeing yours has just made me more excited about getting mine sorted.  Hope they turn up this week.

Where do you ride?  I can't wait to get mine back to the Cwm Carn uplfit.

It doesn't look like the change is too radical - just enough to void the warranty...  Roll Eyes

Out of warranty now, so it's not an issue..
