Went for my first ride today since breaking my T12, L1 and L2 (Compressed my T12 and L2 leaving me about 1cm shorter, and chipped slightly my L1), and broke a bit off my hip socket 4 months back.

did 14mi on the roady, and it was ace. Really missed riding a bike, and now i'm able to get back on it. Only issues are a lack of fitness, and i have a weak core, so my lower back was feeling a bit rubbish by the end of the ride. Even though i only have lycra shorts, no longs of 3/4s, the sun and blue skies made up for it today.

So Cheesy injuries are injuries, you heal, you go through pain and bad times whilst in the early stages, but in the end the satisfaction of slinging a leg over a bike again is awesome.

Ant: Hopefully coming to a trail near you soon Cheesy

Welcome back to 2 wheels dude.

Injuries happen but we come back fighting. I bet you have heard loads of folks asking if your gonna give it up. I know I did, but you wouldnt give up driving if you had a crash.

Was doing a set of dirt jumps which i'd done about a dozen times on the first weekend of july, the take offs were approx 10ft high, and i was boosting for extra height. I overshot the landing and landed on my head/shoulder concussing me and putting me into hospital for 2 weeks.

the jump i crashed on is this one.. It's pretty large.. (random photo off pinkbike) - when i jumped this jump, i landed well out of this pic, past the landing.

Oh, and definately. Two things i kept hearing from everyone, firstly was 'are you going to go back on a bike?' the answer was definately yes, and the thing i started to get annoyed by.. 'You're really lucky, it could have been much worse'. Sure, i  know that i'm lucky not to be in a chair for the rest of my life, but hearing that phrase from everyone i see who knew i had an accident started to drive me mad.
