Er.. Awesome idea alright, but it didn't actually happen (it was meant to though). On Saturday everyone had a timed run and yes, Gee was very fast. On Sunday the mass start race was on and Gee did well (top 10), Dan did better (2nd). Red Bull had quality video of the whole shebang, and mashed/cleverly edited it all together. Simples!

so there was qualifying, a race, gee and dan turned up and the whole thing was filmed
Im confused what part of it didnt happen?
I don't think anyone was / is claiming that Gee did get past everyone else, thats clear in the vid that he didnt

The race is called the 'Epic Blast', run each year by a local club, Epic Mtb. This year the club somehow got Red Bull on board as a sponsor and the Aths to show up. The Fox Hunt was meant as a Red Bull sideshow to the main mass start race, where Gee would head off after everyone else (like 5 seconds) and try to overtake everyone. Although the weekend was a great success I'm guessing time and/or weather constraints meant the 'Fox Hunt' didn't happen. The lads did take part in the other aspects of the weekend however (timed runs, mass start etc). I believe Red Bull were happy with the promo they got and the Aths had a laugh (the Blast is mostly for fun, part DH part XC). Gee even said he'd do it again.. I'm probably not explaining this the best though!
