This is a pretty pointless poll but I am still interested to hear your views.  I have an 07 meta 5 and before buying it, was pretty sure I preferred the look of the 08 model.  Since I've seen it in the "flesh" and even more so since I've owned and ridden it for a few months, I now much prefer the look of the 07 model.
I just read that someone else prefers the 07 look despite having the 08, which prompted me to add this poll.  Let's see what everyone else thinks...............

I also love the slightly slacker angles of the 07 but I haven't included this in the poll.

The 08 black or the 08 white colour scheme?

i.e. I have an 08 55XT but would actually preferred to have had the 08 white frame.

Ah, yes, sorry.  I was referring to the stock colour schemes, i.e. black and silver for 07 and black etc. for 08.  I didn't mean the VIP colour schemes.

OK - have made my vote! (as a new 08 55XT owner what else could I vote for  )

And i'll hijack this thread with another (hopefully not too stupid) question - what's the difference between the stock frame and the VIP frame?? Most 5 owners on here seem to have the VIP frames - is that just because most people want to build their own bike up and the stock frames only come as part of a full bike??

OK, I've added the 07 and 08 VIP frames to the poll.  I hope people can change theire votes if they want to.

The VIP frames are cool-as-hell - - white is the new black and all that.  I bought the VIP frame in October 07 as it was cheaper to buy it this way than a stock model and it makes an original looking bike draw even more attention than it would normally.  I genuinely preferred the gunmetal type look of the 07 to the black of the 08 but that's what personal preference is all about....

its just got to be the new sleek swingarm with the new colours. i mean, they had a fshion designer make design the little logos on the blue/brown/green bits, are swanky is that.
the meta 5, and possibly the 4, are some of the nicest all mountain rigs ive ever seen.

The black 06 looks better than all of the above prob because I have one.

yard, the vip frame and meta 5.5.x frames are identical, except the shock spec'ed (one gets a rp23 with the vip) and the colorway.

in terms of the color ways, it's pretty tough as most of em look really nice, though in different ways. Personally i think the 08 vip is killer, but the 06 black ones (1 and 2 versions - or the all blac one with hydroformed tubing) looks great too, with all the 07 frames in third Not sure where the 08 frames fit in there.
