hey guys

i managed to weigh my 2011 meta 6 today and was really surprised how heavy it was just a smidge under 40lbs,no wonder i am struggling to ride it uphill!!!!!!!!

i was just wondering what all your meta 6s weigh in at,and what is your main riding,as i use mine for a bit of everything xc,singletrack and downhill, but would like to hear from you guys do you think that is really to heavy or is it fine and i just need to work on my fitness.

i know the meta 6 really is more downhill than anything else but i love it and dont want to change it,what is an achievable figure i could get it down too just to make them uphills a bit easier.

as you can see it is probably built more towards dh but thats how i bought it,where should i start to lose some of that weight or am i likely to get it any less without compromising strength.

I imagine that build is closer to 35-36lbs max poss a bit less
Wheels and poss forks maybe a bit on the porky side but rest ain't bad, there is nothing that stands out as overly heavy it's a sensible build with decent quality kit, no way is it 40lbs
How at you weighing it, what type of scales?

Last time i weighed my 6 im sure it was around the 36lb mark(roughly)

I bet it feels lighter already Smiley
36 spoke wheels, Joplin, Diabolus, Bombers etc.
Not the lightest but probably suit your style.

yeah it does steve ; Cheesy but what do you reckon about that weight for an all mountain bike,as i am finding myself riding more singletrack etc than i am downhill, and having been looking around at other all mountain bikes, like the lappiere etc all seem to be under 30lbs.
