A group of four of us are heading to southern spain for a weeks Mountainbiking. We did this trip last year, as have many others on the MTBrider forum, and loved it.

This year, we are looking for a 5th person to fill the last place. The four of us are 30 somethings, proficient rather than awe inspiring riders, fit without being worried that the compulsory cold beer and pizza post ride might upset our carb intake, ride most of the trails that this rocky singletrack paradise has to offer and eat out most nights cos its fabulous food and cheap as.

flights inc bike are about £120, the weeks accomodation and guiding is 435euro, you'll struggle to spent £25 a night on food and beer (£10 a night is easily possible)

Shout if you fancy taking the 5th spot.

When are you thinking of going? And where exactly? I did a week in Spain at Switchbacks a few years back. Technically I'm free at the moment as have no job but that could well change v soon now. I'm a bit billy-no-bikeriding-mates at the mo as the three guys I normally ride with have gone all roadie and one of them has gone off round the world....tuh!!

Doh, forgot the dates!

We're flying out May 14, returning May 21.

It's with Switchbacks.

Last time I went I was seriously underbiked with my 2002 spesh Enduro. Something like the 666 would be ideal. I'd prolly take my Orange 66. I take it you are planning on doing lots of shuttling as well as a few uphills or 'pedally bits' I seem to remember the guide there used to say.

Erm, no, we ride up everything. Shuttling is for whimp ;-)

Seriously, there is a lot of uphill. It's all steady and mainly on fire roads, but we ride them not get shuttled. Also a fair bit of carrying the bike on the hike a bike days. But you don't need to be super or anything, none of us are, you just need to refuse to quit!

Meta 6 would be the perfect bike, I'll be taking the 5 or maybe the Supreme if I fancy killing myself.
