Has anyone tried a 10mm bolt thu axle on the rear? (such as this:
http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=287). How does it compare to a standard QR or a 12mm Maxle?
I'd like to switch to a Maxle on the rear of my 2011 Meta 5 but the cost is over £100 (£50 for dropouts, £50 for maxle lite, £12 for hope conversion kit) whereas for a 10mm bolt thru would only come to £20 (£8 for axle, £12 for hope conversion kit)
I basically need to know what the performance vs cost is on these two options.
1) is there a noticeable difference between standard QR and 10mm QR bolt thru?
2) is there enough of a difference between 10mm QR bolt thru and 12mm Maxle to justify the extra £80?
Cheers,
Tim
