Opening day of the season, tracks been changed a bit. So for those of you interested in going here's what it looks like. This is my mate on his spanking new session 88.

The track is rough as a badgers and as usual it doesn't do those 2/3 ft drop off's any justice. The gay cameraman didn't take the hip jump before the motorway but this is an fantastic jump if taken correctly. Time's not having Gee quaking in fear, but to be honest sometimes at FB its about getting to the bottom in one piece that matters

The sense of satisfaction after a day here cannot be described. If you can, and you like you DH, make a special effort to go, you will only regret it if you end up in hospital!!

Hope you enjoy

Nevertheless very nice riding and a great vid.  Real sense of speed on some of those sections. Ace.

Yep he's gay! Grin  saying that the footage is decepitve to how wide the gap is and if you come up short it hurts as i have a battered mate the will testify to that. Also looked like he was a we bit short on the double further down the motorway. I am usually ball bagged at that point anyway.

might pop up for this weeks sda round on sunday if its not lashing down then back up with the bike later on.

You are right. It is deceptive and hurts if you get it wrong. The double near the bottom is a bugger and I always came up short on it as well. The jump before it has a bad lip on it that's throws the back of the bike in the air. Hence you end up not carrying enough speed into the double all good fun though. We'll see what the big boys can do over the next few weeks.

Did the SDA race at the weekend and since last year when they started to scrape the track down to bed rock it's now brutal 'up top' and there is no coincidence that there are now a lot more accident recovery stoppages.  If you fall off you now hit very hard rock  Shocked

I've always respected the track since I know so many racers who have had their riding days end there, but TBH it now scares me from the gondola crossing to the first woods section.

so where was the new road gap section in that vid?? i know he didnt do it but where does he take an alternative line?
Next season is going to see me hitting up the SDA's aboard a trek session, either that or the supreme v3, but i suspect it will be a trek cos you can pick up a mint year old one for cheapness!!

What did they not think that the worlds toughest track wasnt already hard enough??  Roll Eyes  lol. I know what you mean though, you really do have to respect that track, but it is a hell of a lot of fun at the same time.  Cool

the road gap was still being built and I understand that it will only be used for the world cup round. You may remember a bit in the track where it goes hard right then left and down some "steps". This is the road crossing and the road gap is about 10 yards to the left of this. It is a super steep landing covered in really loose gravel and goes immediately into a big left hand berm. To say it looked daunting is an understatement and I could understand if they never opened it to the public.

From the vid the road I am referring to is at 4.50.

Yip mph "brutal" is a good word to describe the track. Sam Hill will agree with this, as will Ben Cathro from the SDA at the weekend.

Trek Session 88 was an 2010 ex demo from Alpine bikes Innerleithen. Picked up a t a good discount form the original £4500. I have bike envy - its some bit of top end kit.

That roadgap does look pretty insane if you ask me, i dont think even i would want to hit it, its the steepness of the landing and the berm immediately after that puts me off, if you shoot off over that berm its gonna fking hurt!!
