Hi all

First off i apologise for another "what tyre?" thread...  Embarrassed

I have been running my meta4 with 2.25 nobby nic evo's front and back for the past 6 months or so but the sidewalls are getting really worn to the point that you can see the woven fabric.

I like the tyres as they are really light and fast rolling, although they haven't exactly inspired me with confidence but not exactly stopped me pushing them to the limits either.

I plan to do a lot of rides in the lake district over the next 6 months, which is obviously seriously rocky terrain, so want to swap my tyres for something with tougher sidewalls.
I have heard nothing but good things for minions so have got a 2.35 dhf 60a maxxpro for the front but can't decide what tyre to stick on the back.

I am after something that is fast rolling as i guess the minion will be quite draggy. I am also after something that is sub 700g if i can.

What are ardents like for a rear tyre?

Will my bike seem like a tank in comparison to nics front and back?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated  Grin

Ardents are a very good choice on the rear. I run one with a high roller up front on my hardtail. I used to run them on my meta aswell but now run minions front and rear. Excellent tyre IMHO. You won't be disappointed

I Have just gone back to Fire XC Pro's. Had an Ardent on the rear & found it a bit Meh to be honest. Decent enough rolling speed & Cornering but poor grip on the climbs.

I used to have xc pros. Ripped the sidewall without much effort. End of the day it all depends on your riding style I reckon and which parts your better at.
