they should just go back to the standard 20mm pinch bolt design - it works fine ...why change it?

so they can save 15grams. i find it to be stupid. Do like rs and use the 20mm system with an maxle (like on the new rebas). Works like bread and butter

The 15mm standard is being offered as a stiffer option than a traditional 9mm QR, not as a lighter option to a 20mm. It is for a large segment of the market that absolutely refuses to run a 20mm - perceives it as a DH/FR standard. Time will tell how it is accepted, but I honestly don't understand why some folks get so worked up about it.

well yes, but if they just went the rs route, meaning making hard core xc forks with 20mm capabilities, people would get it eventually. If one percieves stiffnes at little to none weight penelty as being fr/dh, they'll prod think the same about the new standard. Oh well. So now we got the 9/10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 24mm? (spesh) and 30?mm (foes is it). yes, maverick has one too. And yes, leftys has their own standard, though that goes without saying Wink hehe

But, in the long run i guess one can go for a 15mm standard instead of the 10mm qr one. Doesn't really matter that much.
