Wayhey my Superteam Dh bike turned up yesterday!

But having ordered it several monthes ago and discussing the sizes to and from I'm unsure.

I am 183cm tall and usually ride a medium sized bike.
the Commencal guy recommended large for me... but I got sent the medium size because of "el cocko upo"
I didn't find this out until I built the bike up.

I haven't tried it "in anger" yet, but pootling it seems the same as my Stab Supreme (medium)...

the bike is rare in this country, so if I want the large size it will take time.
But I'm trying not to let that colour my judgement.

What do you guys think?

PS, in real life the bike is much, much greener that in pictures!

Stick with the medium, Im approx same height and would def go for a medium especially on a DH bike, as want it small and chuckable rather than feeling like a gate.

My thinking too, I'd heard they were small in size, but it doesn't seem so.

I ride a Mini DH in a small/medium and Im 181cm - fits me fine.Small and chuckable every time for me on a DH bike.
The guy I bought from recomended that size and also reckoned he's never sold one in a large.
It didnt make any difference to him as he had to order it in anyway.

You gotta go with how it feels though - I wouldnt want to compromise my ride if it felt wrong.

Just to be pedantic, the Supreme comes in 2 sizes - S/M and M/L.  There is no true 'medium' so if you are around 5'10" to 6' you need to make a choice!

I'm 6' (183cm) and have a S/M DH bike built up for the 2008 race season.  It's perfect for me!

The Surpeme is not a small cockpit and the wheelbase is relatively long.  I went for the shorter version to make it more chuckable for UK tracks and it's working out well.  I've got plenty of space for out of the saddle pedalling without clonking my knees on the bars and while it's fairly compact it's by no means a small bike either.  I'm running the wheelbase as short as I can and it's great.

I think you've got the right bike but make sure you are 100% happy, especially if it was delivered in error.

Hi ive got an 07 supreme dh and its a m/l frame. It is a long bike but it is very nimble. Im not so sure there is alot of difference in the way the two different frames ride, could be personal choice. The s/m frame may be shorter and could well be alot more flickable and would be good for short, tech tracks. I on the other hand like the m/l frame cos ive got more room to move around on the bike. It seems so stable and it goes round corners like its on rails. Im 5foot 9 inches and bout 11 stone and i have no problem throwing the bike arround.
Take the one out that you have. ride it as fast as you can and i reckon the last thing that will be on your mind is the size of the frame but how much faster you will go next time out.
Good luck!!!

There seems to be some confusion around the sizes.

Gravity Slave: you say there is s/m and m/l, and Rab you say you have a m/l...

There is s/m and l/xl...
But the bike I received just has a sticker on that says M... and it also says M on the box.
I'm building a bike for a guy on one of my shop's teams (long story, short version: one team for racing WC, one rookie team doing Norwegian Cup, and one PR/big mouth team!!) he's using a Mini DH 6.10 that is L... which seems big and clumsy.

The medium size bike just seems "right" for me, and now I'm looking forward til the lifts open here!

Thanks for all the help!

Oops!  S/M and L/XL is of course correct.  Sorry for any mis-information.

To add to confusion, I've got a 'fleet' and all are the perfect size for me and their application.  I'm 6 foot, here's the sizing I chose (and am really happy with):
Absolut 4X - L
Meta 55 - M
Supreme DH - S/M

Work that one out!

No worries, I thought that was what you meant.
I do, however, think you should change your name from gravity-slave to spoilt-git  Smiley

I get this though, s/m is basically m as it is probably too expensive to make 4 different sizes.
and a meta in m is also logical, as it's full sus, and you need more flickability, but the 4x in large... is this to give you better gates?

2 years in the planning (and saving), well worth the work!

Absolutely.  On the sizing chart, I'm right at the bottom end of 'large'. If I were an all-day enduro XC type rider, I'd maybe get a large but I've got it set up to compliment my DH riding while getting fit so it's ideal a bit smaller.

Not really.  Again, two sizes of 4X, short or long.  However, while the cut-over on the DH bike is 1.8m, the cutover on the 4X is 1.7m.  At 1.83, the DH feels compact but still roomy - the short 4X was just tiny!

Just took me ages to get my head round all the different sizes.  The main point was to think of my DH bike as Medium rather than Small  Grin

Planning, what is this? I plan nothing!
And then I grew up...
Well done that man.

I have a selection of bikes myself, but haven't had so many from one brand since I was riding for Schwinn (Norway)...

I kinda think of bikes like songs on a cd, I don't usually like them all.
But I'm trying a 552 and I really like it. Gonna sell something and get one probably.
In medium.

Anyone need a kidney?
Or a slightly used, mad cat?
