I think 100mph might have ridden one - check through the Supreme 8 info thread on the forum home page.
edit.. Nope, I'm wrong, not in that. Must have been in another thread. Do a search for it. Should come up.
Aha,
there it is.

Cheers, i wasn't too keen on the fork and what 100mphplus is pretty much what i was thinking, might see about ordering some 36 van's 180mm might as well do it properly.

Yeh I rode one last July.
As it comes, it was actually ok going down hill, (did a run of Dirt Merchant & Ninja Cougar on it) similar 'feeling' to my Supreme DH, but the additonal weight in the forks and wheels certainly came to light when I had to pedal it on the flat or slightly up hill
Back at the garage I put it on the scales and it weighed 4lb more than my DH!!
I would Def change the forks and possible the wheels to something a lot lighter. Alternatively, rather than buying a complete bike I would get a frameset if possible and put a nice light build on it.

Have ridden it just around the LBS.
Weighs an absolute ton IMO! Could barely lift the thing!
Very solid bike though, felt completely planted, would give you bags of confidence. Absolute tank.
Don't have a baldy what the weight is though I'm afraid

If it weighs 4lb more than his DH, that would make his DH 36lbs which is just not going to happen. I expect his DH weighs near 40lb and the supreme 8 near 44lbs.

Yep, weighed in at just under 45lb!!
Actual bike ridden in attached photo. Items changed from Std Spec were chain device, (gamut fitted), and Maxxis Minnion tyres, which added some weight over the Std (200g!).
From previous 'discusions' on another thread, the bike is being marketed as a 'huck' bike, hence it's 'robustness', but I reckon there's a crackin' UK DH starter bike there if it had the right components on it.

I had the privilege of riding the very bike above for two days when I was on holiday this year with T2R.
Coming from an XC background, It was my first real go on a proper DH/FR bike in anger but I had a blast!
I had been riding my Meta 5 in the bike park and although I could ride everything I wanted to, it felt skittish in places and I just got battered!
The Supreme 8 on the other hand was brilliant for the bike park - yes it was very heavy compared to what I was used to but it was truly stable and confidence inspiring - I'm no 'jumper' usually, but the 8 allowed me to ride trails such as 'crank-it up' as they were designed. I found it very stable in the air.
The one thing that did take a bit of getting used to was how short it was - I'm 6 foot and I think it was a S/M frame so it felt very strange for the first few runs.
I thought it pedalled well considering what it was - you're never going to set the world alight at a full-on XC pace but if you just went steady I found it fine - fair enough the bike park is lift assisted by I easily pedalled it to the start of the runs with no worries – If you rode it for XC you would get very fit very quickly!
I was seriously tempted by one, but after lots of consideration, I just don't think it would get used where I ride in the UK - if I were doing a season in Whistler or the Alps then it would be high on my shopping list or if I had money to burn on a toy…..
However, I would change the forks, wheels and brakes – I’m used to Hope stoppers and the Elixir’s just didn’t feel confidence inspiring enough for me.
