that is quite a tidy bke for sure, but i still cant get away from the thought that they have now taken two bikes that were relatively close in thier intended uses and now adding a 3rd, making the range very very tight  Roll Eyes  , and lets not forget the furious, so now in the heavy hitting full sus bracket they got 4 bikes , which if you are using them in the uk or europe ,all will be able to carry out the same functions with minimal difference.

I weighed one in July and it was 44lb  Shocked  Shocked

IMO it needs ~ 6lb taking off it and I'd start with the forks as they make the bike too front heavy, they weigh a ton!!

Do they do a frame only option? If they do, I wonder what the bike would ride like with a proper build on it.
As 100mphplus mentioned, lose some serious weight and you have a contender.
Bong, is Commencal still producing the Furious or is the 8 its replacement?

It weighs more than 44lbs!

If you think it needs to be 6lbs off the weight then your misunderstanding the intended purpose. It's a hucker. Pure and simple.

The Furious is no more.

I still think you could keep it as a hucker but make it better. It does not need to be a beast to be launched off something stupid!

Can't remember what the factory builds were, but my furious tips the scales at 42lbs, and that's built with reasonbaly light components (I certainly wouldn't want to go lighter given what it's built for)

ahh i see, it replaces the furious, makes more sense now, but why bin the furious, that was a tidy bike, did they really have that many problems with it???
As rugby said it doesnt need to be a complete beats to be a hucker, i mean look at the bikes that are used at crankworx etc, they are all light weight but robust dual slalom bikes, so it goes to show a lighter specced bike can take a hell of a beating, in relation to that does it mean this bike is built for doing 100ft drops?? if so i'd love to shake the hand of the man who has the balls to do it!! if not then , well ...  Tongue

How long do you think the bikes used at Crankworks would last in the hands of the average weekend hucker? One run? Two maybe?

Stock Furious weighed about the same, it's been removed from the line up as it simply didn't sell. Great bike, but no one bought it.

As ever peeps are getting hung up on the weight of a bike, reading too many mags I suspect ;-) The Supreme 8 is certainly not for everyone, it's most likely only for a very few, but unlike the Furious even with low sales it's still cost effective to produce it as it's using existing parts. If your thinking it's too heavy, or too over built, chances are you really only need the Supreme.

Does it use the same gauge tubes as the supreme DH?  If so then it would build into a nice light but less adjustable DH bike.
