Chaps,

I'm in the market for a new pair of bike shoes since my pair of 5 year old ones got ripped to shreds in a foot / metal spike coming together.  I ride with SPDs but I'm not into the "carbon shoe & lycra" look that some of these seem to come with.... Anyway, budget circa 60 squids.

Thinking maybe 661 Filter or Shimano MP66...   Any good / bad?  Other alternatives?

Cheers

Jeff

I wear 661 filters. Brilliantly comfy shoe. If you go go through a puddle though they will let a bit of water in but my sealskinz sort that problem out.

My mate has the 661 filters and hates them :/ says they are hard and rub at his feet too much! I have MP66 and love them.

If you were willing to spend a bit more, the 5:10 Minnaar shoes would kill all others in the running!

Thats your mates opinion though. That was mine.

As for the Minnaar shoe, pretty expensive. I liked the prototype much better than the final released.

Looking at Gee Athertons shoes. They were apparently made for them only but we've seen some that they will be released. Fingers crossed.

Yeah fair enough, i was just showing the other side, and yeah they are expensive but definitely worth it! I didn't think they were very different from prototypes though
