Nice build.

I would definitely recommend a Maxle rear axle on it though. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. Stiffens it up a treat.

As for changing your triple. I run the slx double and bash 36/22 with a blackspire stinger. The crank arm come with steel pedal inserts. Much better suited to your style of riding. You could get the whole lot for about £100.

You will need a converter for your hub. One like this,

You are running pro 2 yeah?

Then there is this maxle kit here if it's still for sale

Have you put an advert up on STW for your double and bash? Make sure you get the correct bb length as there are 2 types. 83mm and a 68/73mm one.

I have an 07 Meta with the original commie wheels. Do you know of an axle converter so I can move to Maxle kit ?

Don't think there is one for the stock Commy hub. I might be wrong though. Somebody who owns one will know better.

I'd be tempted to try knock him down to £80-90 cos you can buy it new for £199 and we all know that 2nd hand parts dont hold any real value, plus you can pick up a brandnew SLX double set up from crc for only 89.99

Like Bong says I would probably go for the SLX. Thing is, how good nick is it? How worn are the chainrings and how long would they last before you had to replace them? The SLX is a bloody good chain set, pretty stiff also. Unless you are doing big DH and FR stuff I wouldn't bother with the saint. I also run mine in 170mm crank size due to the low bb height and it's amazing how much that 5mm less in length helps with rock strike whilst pedalling through techy stuff. It's also about 250-300gr lighter.

What size bb is the Saint he's offering you? Like I said before yours iirc is the 68/73mm where as saints are more popular in 83mm even though they do come in 68/73mm guise.

Really mate, the SLX can't be beaten on value and quality for money.
