Hey ya'll.

I currently run a high roller st up front on my meta. I have just about finished building up my SC Chameleon. I am in need of a front tyre for it.

because cash flow is pretty low, I have to broaden my horizons in the tyre front. i.e buying a used one and whatever is available. Is there a tyre or tyres you could recommend that is on a par with a hr or or similar, bearing in mind that autumn/winter are the next 2 seasons which will fall upon us.

Cheers.

Another vote for a minion, I run them on my supreme for xc (2.35 single ply, maxxpro) and the same on my 4X bike, really like the grip they give in all but the soggiest of conditions where true mud tyres are needed.

IMO, minions are shocking as soon as there is a touch of mud.. They just do not have the grip of high rollers when it gets wet!

As for tyre choice, panaracer make a smashing XC tyre, the rampage.

Just been given a kenda Kinetics 2.35 stick-e jobby off a friend which is good of him, so problem solved.
May still be on the look out for another tyre though for the winter on my meta.

Keep em coming Wink

Try Hutchinson Barracudas.

I had them on after my hrs and before the nevagals that I've got on the 55 now, and out of the 3 I think that they were the best.

Your link is to the narrower (but cheaper) sport version.
I think Damo would eb after the standard or SC 2.35 tyre which can also be found on Wiggle & other places.  Unfortunately it's more like £32 - £35.

I've got a pair of 2.3 Conti Vertical's you can have if you want.  Almost no wear to the tread.
The bloke I bought my Meta from gave them to me.
They're probably not that bad but I've got it into my head that they're pinch flat city 'cause last time I used a Vertical (it was a very old one, not one of these) I pinch flatted for apparently no reason...
