So I finished riding and noticed this:

IS it broken? it is a 2009 meta 6 medium.

Yep, by the looks of it.  Inform the shop you brought it from and start the Madison warranty procedure. 

Plenty of 'how to' guides on here so just take a look.

Thats an odd one,to me that looks like its just a crack in the paint mate, what to do is get some touch up paint (it doesnt have to be the same colour as your frame but it will look better if it matches) and paint over the area, if the crack appears again then you got something more serious on your hands and you should contact the retailer.

or you could just send it back and get a brand new one. i would have thought the shop would build it up for you to so no work involved on your part. just means no meta for a while but a shiny new frame in the post.

looks like a paint blemish to me, the sort of thing you get when it is not baked or cured correctly

same frame as mine, same crack, same place - get it swapped, 2010 frame - problem sorted. My 2nd frame wasn't that bad and got done no Q's A'd!!!

You could see the crack on the inside of the seat tube when mine went..

Get in touch with the shop you bought it from.  I just had to send a couple of photos to madison and they sent a new frame out, so I wasn't without my bike

TBH if it were me, i'd send it back anyway.

The 2010 frames have been out for a fair old while now and i can't recall seeing a thread of a 2010 breaking. We've seen loads of 2009's... so i guess it's just a matter of time for them.

So might as well send it back either way and try to get a 2010.

So far I've not seen or heard of a single 2010 failure. Yes, they're quite a bit more money, but they don't break.

Just need to get the weights down, and we're back onto a winner.

You can say that again my replacement 2010 Super 4 frame weighs a bit more than my mates 2009 Meta 5 frame . 

FFS its supposed to be a short travel XC frame.  Oh well if this one breaks I can use it as an anchor for my boat.
