Gutted or you,

Looks like a right laugh too.

I had plans for the Meg Avalanche this year but was injured myself so have plumped for this as it it looks a bit tamer until I get back into the swing of things.

Hopefully Meg Avalanche next year though.

Whoo Hoo!

The Passportes Du Soleil is a brilliant way to chill out* and enjoy seeing the Soleil area.

I done it 2 years ago, and I'd like to go back and do it again.

*if you take the chill out option, you'll need to skip a loop or two, as to do the entire loop in a day involves being first in the lift queue, and not stopping!

Looks like a fantastic event.  Maybe one for next year!

Is it mainly 'downhill' or do you get a fair amount of XC'ers at the event?

I noticed that it's 75km.  Can't work out how fit you'd have to be to enter such an event - it's obviously very mountainous but most of the climbs seem to done via the ski lifts???
I guess what I'm saying is 75km really means nothing unless you know the terrain. What sort of level of fitness would you need to be to enter?
Is it equivalent to say a 75km Enduro event in the UK?  Or is it really a day's downhill riding in the mountains :-)

Thanks in advance
Simon

Well my op will roughly be the first week in August... so fingers crossed 3- 4 weeks recovery time should be ok for biking.

I'll let you know the score nearer the time.

Fingers crossed I should be OK for 3rd week in August or 1st week in Sept... I think the season ends on the 12th Sept.

The date for my op is only approximate... the hospital won't give me a fixed date.  I may have to politely badger them over the phone again next week.

I've got friends who live out there which all adds to the fun.
