I'm currently running Vanilla 32 RLCs but am looking to move them to the hardtail. What are you all running?

Presently a Manitou Minute 140mm bolt thru. Like it a lot, plush and light, but tis a bit flexy. I have TALAS 36 RC2 on the Supreme and love that fork, I've run one of the 36 TALAS since they launched. I'm seriously tempted to put one on the Meta too, or maybe a custom Float 36 set at 140mm. Just can't make a decision yet.

I'm also considering going back to QR on the 5, but I dunno, I've never really liked the idea of having a front wheel held in with what is essentially little more than an interference fitment.

Marzocchi 55ATAs They are very expensive but well worth it, set at 140 for trail riding they are superb, and when it starts to go downhill you can tweak them up to 165 if you like and they eat up everything, plus they are light and really stiff! It was an even choice between these and the foxes but the colour and 3 year warranty won me over, although if they are like all the other Marzocchis I have had then they won't need any more maintenance than a yearly oil change!  Wink

Pikes - just got them back on the thing after a week away havig a warranty issue fixed - they are superb again! Had a great day yesterday and the Maxle gives stiffness and securty a normal QR can't. {please bear in mind that during the Meta's enforced downtime, I borrowed a mates Stiffee with Fox vanillas and a Hope QR, halfway down a run at Glentress approaching a not insignificant jump I heard a wee bit of knocking coming from front end - looked down and the QR was flapping around in the wind!!.  Now normally that kind of thing could have been put down to my error in not properly fitting the QR but my bike mechanic mate had carried out a service on the front wheel and replaced it himself}   The point of all my rambling? i hear you ask - get a fork with a bolt thru system!

I've just built up my 5.5 VIP with a Fox Float R 140, and I have to say its probably the nicest fork I have ever had.

I wanted to avoid bolt thrus because of the extra cost of a new wheel so I'm thinking about the Magura Laurins http://www.magura.com/english/produkte_static/produkt_2008_laurin130fcr.htm  Their stiffness is suppossed to be almost up to bolt thrus but it's a bit of a punt because there are no reviews of them anywhere.

A mate of mine bought a pair of these last week and took them out on his Giant at the weekend. Said they were nice and stiff and he loved them (but he would say that after shelling out). His were the 100mm travel spec.

Can update you again after next weekend!

(Basically my post doesn't help you very much but I've already typed this much so seems a shame to waste it  Roll Eyes)

OK feel guilty now for a crap post........if you go to CRC and search for them, there are reviews for the 2007 model at least.

Will ask my buddy for more feedback on his!

2008 Manitou Minute Elite 140mm bolt through (also comes as standard 9mm). If there are lighter bolt through forks around, let me know.

Nope, haven't received it yet. Manitoumtb.com says 1669 grams, but that must be for the 9mm version. Guess the 20mm is a little heavier.
