2010 Meta 55 VIP

Hey there, I'm off to live in Canada next month and plan on taking my meta 55 with me.

Can anyone reccommend a sturdy travel bag to fit my bike and a few tools in with all the necessary padding etc.

A wheel-able, hard case would be preferable and if it's lockable then that would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance for your advice Smiley

Cheers, Chris

if your only using it the once to get over there then just get an old cardboard bike box from your LBS, prob give you one for free
Then use pipe lagging and clothes etc to pad the bike out inside and a few rolls of parcel tape to seal  it all

The hard shell ones weigh a ton and are only really any good for uber light road bikes that are a bit 'fragile', if you put a MTB bike in them they hit the 32kg weight limit very quickly meaning you won't be able to fit anything else in like spares et al.

If it's a one way trip I'd Def recommend the good old card board box job, one of my mates uses them all of the time racing the world cups.  If you do want a bag, I'd recommend a Neil Pryde, or one of the many copies, you can pick them up on ebay for under £50.
