Just thought i'd post on here about our weekender in Afan after asking advise on the trails a few weeks back.
Five of us went all 1st timers there . Weather was fantastic ,We stayed at the Afan Lodge which was an oustanding place to stay for location ,local knowledge, food ,service and the odd beer or two!!!
Arrived early evening Fri ( late due to traffic) but enough time to wander around , hit some of the Penhydd trail as it was closing on the monday for a year, absolutly loved Hidden Valley section (awesome at speed )
On the sat mornin hit the Wall , stand out section there has to be the Final Desent.
In the afternoon we started Whites Level and as everyone said b4 on here its one b****rd of a never ending climb!! and admittedly had to stop more than once (not ashamed njoi the desents more anyway)
But it was worth getting up there just for Windy Point and Energy sections alone , Absolutly thrashed it through them (still smiling now!)
We'll definatley go back again soon but we heard theres an easier way up to those sections without that Climb!!! ( you'll do me)
