Just been out and done 20 miles around Belvoir Castle. Trails are lovely and dry and was super fast.

I'm mentioning this because it's just too good to last.

I hear that! Don't think too much about what's coming, everyone just get out and ride! Grin

And let's hope we're all wrong and it'll be like, er, that year when it was really really dry and hot (4 years ago?!) Cool Tongue

local riding is great when you have the Cannock Monkey 30 minutes away! Does 30 mins in the car count as local?

As long as Ladybower counts as local for me then Cannock counts.
You should take a leaf out of Fly's book and ride there.  Cheesy

I did once, from Nottingham when I was at Uni
Did it the hard way as well - as much offroad as possible, pretty much most of the way on the Trent and Mersey canal towpath, and that was with zero suspension and cantilever brakes etc
If I remember correctly I overslept and missed lectures the next morning Grin

I like local rides.

Got some nice walkers paths nearby, which are ideal for midweek rides.
Also some bits which are handy for practising drifty muddy corners, and lots of nice tree roots  Grin
Shame there's a lack of elevation locally  Undecided
