First time back in the saddle for real since November after injuring my ribs, and one of the harshest winters ever. Wee tad bike rusty from the time off, but thought you guys might like to see the footage from the veho muvi attached to my fox flux. Excellent camera for the money if anyones thinking about getting one, then heres a sample of what you can expect. This vid took 5 hours to upload overnight, what a pain in th t**s! The sound also seems to be out of sync, need to overlay with tunes next time.Oh, please bear the first 40 seconds before I get going!

texan I think Youtube has definately compressed your footage pretty badly and affected the quality

Good vid though

I randomly found the company in the far east who makes that cam the other day.. almost tempting to get them to make something a little more 'sensibly' shaped  Grin

whats more sensibly shaped than something that fits perfectly on a camelback sholder strap or on a seattube?

I wrap some clingfilm around the bottom of the cam to protect the socket and the card slot from ingress of dirt, I also add a small cable tie to hold the cam onto the holder as an added security precaution..as the cam only clips into place on the holder...
Have you tried Vimeo for hosting your vids??

I hope to get down to GT or Inners sometime this year... Wink

here is a pic of the mount, the cable tie is slack enough to slide down outa the way to remove the cam but it's tight enough to be an added secure fixing... didn;t have the cling film attached at time of taking the pic...

I have cut a section of old innertube out for mine that I wrap around the bottom USB port and the card slot to protect it and attach with a rubber O Ring. This can if needed go around the mount too
I also find the cam can be attached with a velcro strap to my camelback sholder strap quite well.
I can then operate it on the fly as well and it gives a lower almost chest cam viewpoint

Hold the BUS!!!!! That cam footage of Spooky is shot using one of those cheap Muvi's? the type you can get for 50bucks off ebay like THIS ONE ?? Are they all the same or are there subtle differences in them like the GoPro ones?

The Bus has been held! They are all the same, but check out Tesco Direct, thats where I got mine for around £46 with the sports kit. Having said that the sports kit is really about as good as a Commencal weld, and i would recommend just using cable ties as the muvi comes with the main cradle in the box. Footage wasn't affected too much with youtube, and its really easy to use and super light. I've had it attached to my bars, which was a bit jerky, so I think the helmets the best place for it. It comes with a 2gb card, so I'd recommend buying a 8gb micro sd card too.

be careful of the ebay ones Bong, some are Muvi but without logos some are cheaper poorer quality plastic cased ones (like this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-DV-DVR-Sports-Video-Camera-Spy-cam-SpyCam-MD80_W0QQitemZ180488732839QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamcorders_Professional_Video_Cameras?hash=item2a05f780a7
All the non Muvi branded ones seeem to have an issue with the date being displayed wrongly on the video
(THe one you listed is geninue Muvi there are some on ebay for £13 they are the ones I mean but at that price probably worth a punt anyway)
camera, extreme sports pack and 8gb card £75 at amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0029631VI/ref=asc_df_B0029631VI608540?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=7974&creativeASIN=B0029631VI

search this forum for Muvi
BigTex I think started a thread and it has links now to threads on STW and bikeRadar - loads of info on them

you can get a waterproof case that looks quite good - 100% waterproof and has a camera thread mount on it taht would make it easier to mount in various ways, they are expensive though, about same cost as the camera
