I'm looking at building some new wheels up..

I can't find that many UST rims though ?  Can std rims be converted easily enough to run tubeless or are you better off just getting UST rims in the first place.. ?

 Huh?

Either UST rim (of which there aren't many), any old rim with a conversion kit or a stans rim with either conversion or lightweight tape.
Flow rims with yellow tape (sealing the spoke holes) work well and are nice and wide.

I've used the joes conversion kits (as they are massively cheaper than the stans ones) and they work fine, but for super cheap ass types you can do your own with a split bmx tube (ghetto method)

Stans rims all the way mate
I have Olympic on the H/t and just got Hope Hoops with 355 rims for the Meta
You would prob want Flows
I think there where some for sale on STW the other day

ps - anyone got any Stans yellow rim tape going spare - enough for 2 wheels ideally 25mm width but 22mm would do (is for 355 rims)
Can get a roll for a tenner but as a roll does about 5 tyres I figure there must be loads of unused half rolls out there!?

justridingalong.com (Sheffield) has lots of info about Stans / tubeless etc
As for cheapest - pass!
Got both my wheels 2nd hand off ebay / singletrackworld

You may get Flows cheap at mo as they are recently discontinued and replaced with a new (similar) model

Mate, go proper tubeless.

Its just a faf with non ust rims with tape and all that bo**ox.

I just picked up a set of Mavic 819 UST rims on DT hubs wheels from Singletrack for £100. Happy days.....

Alex have a look on Pinkbike as there are quite a few to be had on their for good money.

Are the Mavic 819's the only UST rims available ?

I'd like to rebuild my mavic wheels, but they are 24h and I don't know of any hubs that would suit ?
