Hey that's niiice Rufus thanks!

Can't wait to hear more of your riding experiences on the trails. Did you ever run your 5 with 160 forks? Just got my forks back with repainted lowers . Wait for an photo update post very soon..

Anyway I'm loving my 5 with the 160 forks, loving more travel and slacker HA. While my forks were away I didn't ride even ones even though I had the old 140 forks installed, just didn't feel like going out, weird. Only problem with the longer A/C is the über slack seat tube for climbing. I also have the Joplin (only one ride with it so far but already loving it!) and when fully extended my but is so far out back this makes me want longer chainstays on every steep climb. When I do upgrade my frame when ever that will be, I'm def going for 6-7 inch. few guys around here ride Pivot Firebird and it doesn't seem to give up anything to the shorter travel bikes, actually it seems even more efficient for the technical Scandinavian terrain.

But lucky you having those bikes to choose from for every ride... Trails are actually pretty good here now, at least if you go in the evening when the temp is down. I'd think it's the same there so makes me wonder if you're just too much of a brit for Norway winter

What? Riding when the temp is even lower?!? You're mad! MAD!

This winter has been so rich in snow, but it's mostly been powder so un-ride-able, but very ski-able, and even more snowboard-able. Now the snow is retreating like quick-like, but the temp only goes down to 3 or 4 at night so it's not ride-able then either. Oh well more miles on the xc bike before I earn a ride on a fullsus (personal discipline).

The feelings you've had about slack seat angles is the reason I didn't bother to try the bike with more travel at the front... but if you do upgrade your frame I can defo recommend the 6... it's so good, in fact, that I don't know why I bothered with the 5! (ok the 5 is more xc-able, but the way I ride the 6 is fine for everything and better at dh).

And for those readers with a finger down their throat because I have both, I run a shop, my 55 has done a lot, and was for sale, but seeing as it's been my best bike evereverever I found out that I'd rather hang it on the wall then think of it at someone else's disposal. And if anyone visits*, they can ride the 6...

where abouts are you in Norway, last time I was there I was around Kristiansand and up towards Stavanger. Beautiful countryside

355's will be fine Steve, they are stronger (apparently) than the Olympics on the hardtail which have been good for over a year now and Ive heard of people running them heavier than me (16stone!) should be okay for me, Im not exactly the most airbourne, fast, heaviest rider around
They coped ok round Peaks on Saturday and I hit some rocks pretty hard (for me anyway)
An Arch or Flow would have been overkill, and anyway - they were cheap
Im more concerned by the spokes on the Pro 2 SP's!
