Hello All,

I appreciate my question has probably be done to death but here it goes.

My 2009 frame has cracked again so it will be going back. I am 5' 11" tall and currently have a medium frame, I like the way it rides. My question is, should I try and get a large replacement frame?

My thinking behind this is that the sizing chart suggests I should have a large and I'm still concerned about the length of seat post sticking out of the frame and the possibility of cracks forming at the top tube / seat tube interface, even though the have supposedly addressed the manufacturing issues. An irrelevant point is that I like the look of the medium fame more than the large.

Has anybody else changed the frame size from a medium to a large, what did you think?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you like the medium, then stick with it.. Plus I think you may have a long wait to get hold of a large frame.   Smiley

I don't think you will have a problem tbh. The 2010 medium frame seat tube has gone from a 27.2 seatpost to a 31.6. Thay have really toughened this frame up. They have lifted the shock mount off the downtube by about 2 mm and the welding is so much better. The frame is how it should have been in the first place. The seat tube also has an indent half way down, i think this is for the shock clearance but by the shape i think this is where the flex will now happen.

i am also 5'11 and i recently got a replacement 2010 Meta 55 frame in medium.
The bb bracket feels higher off the ground than my 2009 frame, cos with the saddle at a comfortable height i feel i am stretching more to get my foot down on the ground than before, although i might have shrunk in the wash.
The 2010 frame feels really well made and its very quiet,i just need to fettle some more as its not as fun as my 2009 frame but i am sure when i have made some more adjustments it will be.

Cheers for the replies, I think I will stick with the medium.
