has any one changed the shock length on a mini dh before, i was after a shock with a piggy back system and ive been offered one which is slightly longer i to i and 7 mm longer stroke, what will be the effects of fitting this if any

one with a slightly longer i2i just will not fit bud...

It's a case of a 200mm long shock max.

Yeah, as Ant says its got to be 200mm I2I, but you can fit a shock with a 57mm stroke. I've been running one on my bike for over 18 months with no problems at all.

Its hard to tell as I went from a 51mm Float R to a 57mm Manitou Swinger coil. The bike felt better balanced, had more grip and was much more fun downhill but a lot of that would be down to the better shock. I've ditched the coil now and got a DHX air to save a bit of weight and it seems to suit the bike perfectly. The travel is better balanced with a longer stroke shock as it has 167mm rear and 160mm front.

Yeah i Just put 200mm i2i and 57mm Stroke on my Mini DH and whole ride feels alot nicer for DH but as someone said could just be a better shock lol.
