got it all put together at last,
09 meta 55.1 frame with all the bits of the crap and snaped proflex 768 (could not tell you how crap the new proflexusa brands bike are as kids may be reading this)

WHAT A BIKE!!!! , i see why commencal has such a following,I DONT CARE ABOUT CRACKING! and am happy to recomend the brand to all i meet, and will be very happy to buy again.

just posting this because i cant get how good the thing rides, got mine with 30mm stem and 700 bars and changed the fox shock for a manitu swinger 3 way,the bottomless feel and the way the bike rides deep in its travel but take big hits AND STILL GO UPHILL (well with a bit of grunt anyway), the way it carves banked corners and powers out again is a blast.

this is a note to anyone who is thinking of buying one<GO GET IT! you wont be sorry.

Bad news pal. You gotta remember, if it's gonna go, it's gonna go. Who'd you buy it off? I think SteveB said he has turned them round within a couple of weeks. Mine took 7 or there abouts. Got it back last week missing the cable guide from the bottom bracket. I had to buy a new seatpost and collar as they are different sizes for 2010. Managed to get a maxle kit and headset though off Madison.  I reckon it would have been quicker if i'd nagged madison myself though. They don't have the best procedures in the world.

Thats bad luck, although you did kinda tempt fate with that first post.....  Wink
Hopefully it wont take too long to get back, and although 3 days is bad, someone posted on another forum a picture of their cracked lap-dog which broke on its first ride.Thats even worse.  Grin

Hearing about quite a few Lappieres cracking now. It seems they're following in Commencals footsteps in more ways than one. Having been there with Commie, I genuinely hope they get it sorted for next season. Still think they're some of the best looking bikes around at the moment.

They're ok, but I'm not keen on that fussy chain stay thing they have on the Spicy. It just looks like they were drawing the chain stay and seat stay, then at the last minute they realised they didn't line up, so they just shoved an extra bit of metal in there and hoped for the best. My favourite looking bike at the moment, and I feel dirty for even saying this, is the Trek Remedy 9.9. I await the abuse...  Grin

What was the reason for you to change the shock? How's the Swinger?

cheers for the replys (freindley forums unlike bikeradar Grin)
i have already mailed madison direct to push them, even if they wont deal direct with me im hopeing this will speed things up.
the orignal bike i got was a proflex 768, got it from wheelies direct as a replacement for a stolen norco(they said it was the best match, liers),after 3 months it snaped along the top tube due to the way it was welded.

anyway after 6 months wheelies sent me the replacement proflex 798 and that looked like it came out of a skip so i told them to shove it and they came up with 2-3 frames i could have (spech enduro 07,commencal meta 09,and a couple of one i have not herd of)

i picked the commencal meta as it is my dream bike and have always wanted one, they look sexy and now have noticed that they ride well good, but it came with no rear shock as part of the deal.

i got the swinger 3 way because it was a swap for a oversized monarch 2.1 with a mate, the shock works real well with the commencal and it can be run with less positive air to give it a plush feel and more in the negative to help the it ramp up even more into the stroke and seems to help the rear track and ride the way i like.

SO...... yet again im having to deal with the wheelies plonkers to get this changed but i am hoping for a 2010 frame but req it without maxel dropouts as i would have to then change my rear hub.

still love the bike and would not have done anything diff, and i dont take back my first statement. my luck has always been a bit crap, and with all the faults on the frames i have seen i knew this would happen and im still happy just want it changed so i can ride because even in 3 days i have grown to love the way it rides and when i and it are in the zone IT ROCKS!

if you look down the general discussion forum for "is this the start" and look at the guys second picture of the crack on the mount on the down tube, mmine is the same.

feel sorry fro the guy who broke it on the first ride, do you think it will be ok to use it as transport to work and very light stuff,i have a trip planed to ride a bit of the southdowns way next weekend and dont want to miss out,

or i could build up the one one 456 again for a while

I remember that thread and vaguely remember the pics though I'm b@ggered if I can find it now.

If it's what I remember, small cracks starting on the welds that support the linkages on the down tube, then I would (and am) carry on riding it until they sort you out  -  as long as the cracks are tiny and you keep an eye on them.  Perhaps a permanent mark at the end of the crack to see if it's spreading.

Of course, don't ride on it if you're unsure about it.  Nothing worse than riding with a crack in your head.  Grin

does anybody know if this is ture of if they are pulling a fast one Huh?.
also have recived a email back from MADISON saying that my warrenty is with wheelies and not them, they did buy the frame for me then suplyed it as a warrenty clame

mine was just over 2weeks to turn around a frame replacement. The new 2010 frame seems to be so much better made and the linkage is much quieter.
The only strange thing is i felt my 2009 frame was a better ride than my new 2010 frame, but that said i am still fettling with it so i am sure i can get some better feedback from it soon.
3days and cracked your frame was probably already faulty when it left the factory,i noticed a crack on mine after 2months but i hadn't bothered checking prior to that.
