Looking forward to this Sunday, it's my first Gorrick spring series race on the Commie Smiley

It's also my first on a Full-Susser Smiley

I'm hoping both play a part in pushing me higher up the field than last time i tried one and finished about 10th from last.

Plan/target for the weekend is a top 75% finish in class.

Target for the year is a top 50% finish.

Biggest tip I can offer is to pedal where you can and not be tempted to coast  Wink

Course was weird, quite easy for the first half a lap but then mud and the harder hills made teh 2nd half of the lap real tough.

I doubt my heart rate dropped below 170 for the whole race.

I dunno where i finished yet or the time i completed the 2 laps in..but i gave it my all.

I have to admit to once again being disappointed in myself. I want to be better, fitter, faster and stronger... but for the life of me, i don't know how.

Crust (riding buddy) asked after the race if i was doing the next in the series... However.... Hmmm i just dunno.

The whole day was a blast... company excellent, banter superb and the route/track was brilliant.

The after race lows kill me though.

You gotta keep going man. I stopped smoking 2 1/2 years ago and got a bike. I was seriously unfit and got pi**ed off with everyone beating me upto the top of the hills and having them wait for me. I'm 36 and it's the first lot of exercise i've done(used to skive games at school) so you could say i've started a bit late. Yeah I still get pi**ed off that people still beat me to the top but hey, i'm getting there. Feels good when I catch some them up on the downhills though. What makes it worthwhile is the feeling I have when i've finished. Buzzing! Thats what makes me do it again and again, coz at that point i've already forgotten the climbs.  Keep at it, you won't regret it. When next year comes, you'll love it even more.

Doesn't happen with my mates. Of the 10 i ride with, none get close to me on hills, strength, stamina or uphill speed. Today... well it's not the same LOL.

The difference between the fast guys and me... it's just huge..

58 2 01:01:31 00:14:40 501 Steve Weeks - 00:29:06 00:32:24

Told you i blew up in a big way on lap 2.  3 mins 18 seconds slower on lap2.

(i'll let the other boys put their results up if they choose)

Not a bad day mate, was approx 12-15 places better than my first race attempt last year..

I think basically that's just about my level.
