Thieving Dirty Bar Stewards!!!!!!!!!
«

[RANT]
Yesterday I found that some dirty thieving bar steward has stolen my seat post clamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not the seat or seat post, not the front tyre or lights . . . just the
fuc
bloody seat post clamp!!!
I
leave
used to leave my bike locked up during the day while I am at work, wont be doing it again though. This might explain why someone figured that I didnt need that part of the bike, since it was just sitting there doing nothing anyway. Had to ride home last night with my seat so low that my knees were almost up around my ears and so loose that i could have done a seat 360
o
if I could have got my arse cheeks to twist at the right angle.
How much of a cheeky bar steward do you need to be, to lift out the seat post; release the clamp for pocketing, and have the cheek to replace the seat & post like nothing happened!!! I'm so pissed off that I'm thinking of staking out the place i lock my bike and waiting for the little
shi
sod to come back for the rest of the bike. Will knock the little
shi
sod into the middle of next year.

i had a problem sort of like this but not as bad,
i lock my bike at work in a bike shed with all the peeps i work with,
some pointless spanner was letting all the air out of my wheels and shocks and undoine the handle bars just enough so when i turn hard i kiss the concrete.
so..........
i found out who it was then i squirted oil on the break pads from there disc breaks and done is fork with full rebound, the twat in question then road into a wall (at low speed and did not hirt himself)
the person in question then had to walk home 14 miles just like i had to walk the 2 miles the first time he did it to me, i now walk to work and go for a ride after,
needless to say we are not freinds and he is a "know it all" teen twat, best of all its the bosses son! hahahahahhahah
revenge is best served HOT! in a mug with a wooden spoon followed by brick in the face cake.

i have to admit that my bike was in the open, will either be storing in a more secure place or walking from now on. since it was in such an open place i suppose i will never find out who it was - but if i do....
.... I am prepared to pay a fine for kicking his ass lol
I'm glad it was only the seat post clamp - can replace it reasonably cheaply. it could have been a lot worse i suppose but it still made me very angry. why cant these little she-ites have respect for other peoples property. just jealous of someone having a 1/2 decent bike i suppose.
and as for eating some of your lunch!!!!! - that is simply unforgivable, some laxative sandwiches might be worth while
they wont do it again after an afternoon of running to the toilet lol (also helps identify the culprit)

that sucks the thief must either have stole it just to piss you off,cos why would anyone steal a seatpost clamp, there is little value in a 2nd hand clamp and even if the toe rag stole it for their bike whats the likely hood it would be same DIA.
So who would wanna piss you off at work?

lol - i know it wasn't anyone from work - as i said, the public location means it could have been anyone. but your right, there is little value in it (compared to other things they could have been away with). probably just a little prat jealous of the better bike i think. if i find him i might see if i can get it to fit round his neck lol
i was going to replace it with another quick release one (since i do both on & off road so need to adjust seat height) but the more i think about it, the more i think i will go for a locked one and just carry a tool for it. save this from happening again.
either way i wont be leaving my bike in the same location again anyway.

I used to ride my hardtail to work and lock it in the bike sheds with the dozens of other bikes , one day i come out and some guy was ragging his bike from bewteen my bike and a mates , all you could hear was metal and disks smashing together, i shout "oi you fekking C U Next Tuesday watch my bike " he carried on as he was so I grabbed his break leavers one in each hand and snapped them completely off and handed them to him , luckily he did not retaliate as he was a bit of a guerilla but I think i made my point pretty clear:p

Another example of people not respecting other's property (
him i mean, not you lol
) in the same situation i am fairly sure i would do the same as you did.
Well just to put me in an even better mood, i got a puncture on the way home tonight
damn it all. At least im off work till Thursday now, gives me plenty of time to fix it i suppose.
What are the chances of me getting round to it before last thing on wed i hear you say? next to none lol

well it seems fitting to bring this thread back since some bar steward stole my bike today. not due to make my final payment on it till next month
so i'm looking for a new bike that is not too expensive (£500ish) - any recommendations?
i was looking at a dual sus Giant down from £900 to £550 but i know i will probably get a better bike by sticking to a hard tail - still torn though since i prefer off road
all thoughts and rants about thieving bar stewards welcome

Sorry to hear that.
So many scum about. We've tried ASBOs and that didn't work so I now suggest another look at the somewhat controversial death camp idea!
If you can stretch to £660, I bought a Commencal Ramones 2 hardtail from single track bikes (rrp is £950), they have all of the other Commie hardtails too.
Ridden it on the trails a few times now, really impressed with it.

yeah death camp penalty sounds fine to me - i can agree with that. i know if i find the thieving bar steward i will probably be in court on assault charges very soon after.
However, thank you for your suggestion of the Ramones 2 - sounds like a good deal.
i took a quick look at the site and it looks to be worth further investigation. Will take another look when i get home tonight (still at work just now).
maybe come back on later and rant some more too.

Well at least they left the rest of the bike.
I've just had 2 full sussers nicked, 1 of which was a Scott Genius.
Not to mention an old motorbike and all the petrol garden shit.
What they did leave was an old quick release, so if you get stuck let me know.
Be happy, you still have a bike!!!!
