Ok so despite wife, kids, busy job etc. I wasn't doing too bad as far as getting out on the bike. Been getting the night rides in a couple of nights a week through most of the off season on my scott hardtail, fitness was getting reasonable and was pretty excited about the onset of spring, dry trails and doing some full on ripping on my meta55. BUT it obviously isn't to be. First of all my riding mates organise a scotland trip for around the time of my birthday to do kirroughtree, dalbeatie and mabie. Excellent i hear you say. NO. Its just as we move house so clearing off to scotland is just not going to go down well with the wife. Oh well, at least theres still gonna be some great days out in the peaks to be had and some good local riding round sherwood pines and surrounding areas. NO. I won't go into detail cos it might make you throw up but for reasons i won't go into I ended up having bowel surgery yesterday which has resulted in me having a new hole in my arse the size of a ten pence piece!!!!  Shocked Even if i put the armchair off the wifes bike on the meta i don't think i could make it more than 20 yards! To add insult to injury the surgeon told me he's not sure the op was a total success and may have to operate again in 2 months. MISERABLE AS F**K!!!

Happy riding people

Sorry to hear of your problems mate, life can be like that. Just when you think everything's going well It'll bite you in the bum ( Wink ).
I had an awful year last year but you know what, things will get better, so chin up & count your blessings.

Yeah, chin up man. easy for other people to say I know. Stay positive.  Strip your bike clean everything up weigh it(if you like). Replace bits with some pimped items. Retail therapy works a treat. By the time thats all done you'll be good to go on a pimped out steed.

Man thats bad news all round. From experience it makes the bike days out in the future all the better, although not easy at the time i know.

Keep the spirits up.

Cheers Fellas,
Feeling a bit more positive today. You're right damo, time to strip, clean and lube the steed, i'm kinda slack when it comes to bike maintenance so should use this opportunity to improve my skills. Mrs must be feeling a bit of sympathy for me today cos she told me i should plan a trip to wales with the boys for when i'm mended. Quite fancy a weekend tackling coed y brenin (not been yet) and maybe the snowdon ranger path (anyone done this? saw it in an issue of mbr and it looked awesome).
Thanks again for kind words,

Matt.

Good man, you know it makes sense. When it's all minted up and you get back on it, it'll feel like new again.

snowdon ranger path subject to voluntary MTB ban during the summer so you would have to be up and back down before some cartain time in the morning 10am or sommat!
Plenty round Coedy to keep you busy though
