Appreciate the replies, the US distro has been notified and is currently working on a replacement.  VERY good people here, they haven't hesitated a bit.  *knocks on wood*

Just wanted to update you with the replacement news.

Sent my meta frame back to merlin last week on monday and got a new 2010 frame back by friday.

Couldnt ask for better service really.

Miss the green but i guess the white will make me clean it more often. The welds and orientation of the bottom tube linkage mounts look a lot better than before. Also, the tubing itself seems better shaped. Overall, very impressed. Ill try and upload some shots of the new build tomorrow.

How did you manage to get Merlin to sort you out so quickly?

I sent them photos and an email and frame number etc. on Friday 5th February of my 6 month old green VIP Meta - size Large
I sent them the frame (and all the other parts apart from the wheels) too so they can rebuild it for me and they received it on Thursday 11th February.
   So far - - - nothing.

Any tips on getting such a lightning fast service as all other users seem to report 4 - 6 weeks ??

I dealt with them through email - I think the problem is lack of stock(large ones). Mine was a green vip medium and once they got the frame code they spoke with madison and arranged to get a replacement sent to them. I then sent my frame(just the frame - it was a custom build i did myself) back, Merlin swapped the shock over and sent it back to me.

Maybe a medium frame might be a good idea for you. If need be you could use a layback post to increase cockpit size if that worries you. I would speak with merlin and see if that will help turn things around quicker. Im 5' 10" btw and the medium works well for me. Thats with a normal straight seat post, riser bars and a 70mm stem.

Erm - thanks for that but no - A large is needed but I think you're right that these are rarer than mediums maybe.

Merlin are pretty confident to turn things around within the 6 weeks that I've kinda "allowed for" from the date they received my frame so I hope to have it back by 25th March 2010.

They've told me Madison make twice-weekly deliveries to Merlin and that they have a good relationship with them, to be at the front of the queue for warranty replacement frames and expects my frame to arrive at the end of this week.  The customer services guy at Merlin seems to be on the ball and saying all the right things to me via email so I'm happy to be patient

Yep - Tony is the guy who's been emailing me - no complaints at all.

UPDATE

Friday 5th February - sent email with frame number and picture attachments to Merlin
Thursday 11th February - Merlin received my frame (and all parts removed from it but I sent them in the box) except the wheels
Thursday 4th March - T'call from Merlin - they have got my 2010 white warranty replacement frame and are building it back up - it'll be posted to me today or tomorrow!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

I've paid with a card over the phone for some brake pads they are gonna fit for me before sending it back and they are bleeding the rear for free.

So - that's a total of 4 weeks, pretty much to the day between first notifying them and getting a new frame back in its place.

Those 4 weeks represent (for me anyway) the worst 4 weeks of weather we've had in a while so the tiiming couldn't have been better.  4 weeks is still 4 weeks though but I've no real complaints

Hope everyone else gets theirs sorted soon (if not already) too.
