hi i was wondering if anyone had recently put in a claim for a new frame and if so what were the lead times on replacement frames.
If its a long lead time then i would rather put my bike in now while the weather is vile, but i dont want to be without a ride for say 3months.

The best person to ask this of is the dealer you got the bike from. Everyone else is just going to give to anecdotal times. The dealer just needs to call their supplier who'll be able to give them an accurate timescale.

I returned my frame to Merlin at New Year.  No word yet on expected wait but the word from Madison was that it is dependant on frame size.  I was going to start chasing things up next week.

I'm thankful I have a spare bike, so a month or so, while annoying, isn't going to stop me getting out.

It is going to cost me a fortune though, I keep seeing shiny things (cranks, wheels, etc) on special so the rebuilt Meta is going to be quite bling!

mine took about 8 or 9 weeks - worth the wait though, and like you i had another bike to be going on with so it didn't bother me.

reminds me i need to post some pics now i've got me wheels.

my LBS confirmed that it is indeed a crack, but they have seen them before. The frame will be sent off soon to maddison, the Maddison site the LBS use didn't show stand alone frames except VIP so no idea yet of a lead time.
I now wish i had taken it back before xmas as the bike has been sitting idle for 6weeks.

Due to poor sales my LBS has dropped Commencal this year to push Trek Smiley but that business, big brands sell well.

I have now dug out my indestructable 12year old Saracen hardtail with rigid front forks so that should be a bit of old school fun,i forgot just how light it is.

What?Huh? Warranty stock has never been on the B2B site. All they have to do is follow normal warranty procedure and call warranty. It's not hard. I called them on Thursday with a warranty issue. Sent photos an hour later, Friday got an email to say replacement in the post. Customer will be back on the trails with his new frame by Wednesday. I think some of the lesser known dealers might need to get a returns number and send the frame back before a replacement is issued, depends on the relationship between the dealer and Madison I guess, but that will only slow things down by a few days, providing the dealer gets the frame back pronto.

It's no wonder there is so much crap flying around about how slow replacement frame turnaround is when it seems a lot of dealers can't seem to follow a simple warranty procedure.

i took bike into LBS at 4.30pm yesterday,so doubt Maddison would be taking calls at 4.30pm on a saturday. They said they will phone maddison monday and also strip down bike next week. The guy in the shop said he would be horrified if i were without my bike for more than 3weeks.There is alot of crap as you say flying about i have read about long lead times on this site,so that is all i have to go on till i speak to bike shop tuesday Smiley.I am not in a big hurry myself as i dont intend hitting the forests till early march.

Well, you didn't make things to clear in the last post, did you? Anyway, hopefully you'll be back on the bike soon.
