So, has anybody got anything planned for this year?

I've got a week booked with Endlessride in Morzine to do the Passportes du Soleil.
And I've just entered the Megavalanche, so will be heading up to Alpes D'Heuz for a week after Morzine Grin

Plus there'll be the usual weekend trips to various parts of the UK (Golspie, and Hamsterly have been mentioned so far).

no nothing planned yet, but i'm hoping i make it to spain again this year. i stayed in a villa last year, in a small rural village high up in the alpujarras, with miles and miles of dusty rocky trails straight from the door. it's an amazing place.

i'll probably fit in a week in both the lakes and the peaks too, aswell as a few long weekends away in scotland.

I have one this side of the pond. I am heading into BC for 7 days of singletrack with www.sacredrides.com.
My Meta 5 looks like the perfect bike for the trip.
June can't come fast enough as it is freezing in Montreal (-15) right now.

I have a Dakine Bike Bag.  It's actually more like a giant suitcase for your bike.  Very large and protects very well.  It still looks good after 3 different round trips via United and one round trip via FedEx to Whistler.  Its awesome!

Off to spain in april with sierracycling. First went out there with them on a Kona Stinky in '05 and was quite unfit. Now i'm a stone lighter and much, much fitter and best of all the meta5.5 will be coming out with me.

Off to Spain too, only in mid May and with switchbacks.

Which reminds me, must pay them!

4 days in the Lakes late March; 5 day tour of the Dales in late April; 4 days in Verbier early July

The advantages of running your own business; work the ‘wicked weather’ weekends in the winter Sad………make up for it through the summer  Smiley

Glentress/Innerleithen - will take a couple of days to do all the XC trails, but if only one day, do Glentress Red, and Innerleithen (traquair) XC.
Mabie - red has a more natural feel in bits, with some fast swoppy sections. Only bother with the complete Darkside if you have plenty armour, are good at riding narrow high stuff, and have the best part of the day to play with. However I'd recommend you head down to the first section (Vadars Lair) of the darkside, as it's got some fairly easy stuff at the start, aswell as some trickier stuff at the end to give you an idea of the skill/balls level required to do the rest of the darkside.
Dalbeattie - Criticised for still having quite a bit of fireroad, but still contains some nice sections, including the infamous Slab, and Terrible twins. Doable on the same day as Mabie red.
Kirroughtree - A must do. Do the complete red/black combo. Out of the 7 stanes, this is the most flowing technical trail, and features McMoab to challenge your Stamina, Balance, and Skill.

Newcastleton - do it if you happen to passing and have the time.
Glentrool - It's just a big fire road loop.

I'd second the recommendation for Kiroughtree, this is a great trail and has some really memorable sections. A step up from the Welsh trail centres. You have to think about your riding on some of those drops!

Newcastleton - short and sweet, we did it on the way home last year. Nice trail, some interesting exposed sections and bridges and a large north shore play ground in the trees.

Going back soon to visit the eastern side - GT and Innerleithen

Third the Kirro recommendation - though don't {as I did} do it on a mates borrowed Nomad with 888's on the front!     Can't wait to get back down there on the Meta though!
