Just wondering how many sets of dropouts people are getting with their new meta 5's and if so what size/sizes?

I have taken a major dislike to the existing XT hub from the 09 model and am looking at either ordering a new rim with Hope pro 2 hub or just ordering a new hub and getting it swapped into the EQ27 cos white is soooo sexy... thing is, I wouldn't mind stiffening up the rear end and need to know whether to order std QR, 10mm bolt in/straight thru or poss going 12mm tho this may be overkill?

any thoughts recommendations appreciated....

Cheers

12 mm bolt thru - no hesitation, no such thing as over kill!!!!

Hope Pro 2 (Red) On Mavix EX 721's rims coming soon - 12 mm bolt thru rear, 15 mm FOX QR front.

Just bumping this in case anyone can help?  Roll Eyes

Just wondering how many sets of dropouts people are getting with their new meta 5's and if so what size/sizes? I know on the 09 models you got two choices.

I'll prob run the XT till it breaks before getting some Stans Flow Hoops, just wish I could get my hands on them wrapped round some Green Hubs!

Cheers

Just the one set of qr drop-outs with mine.  Think i read somewhere here that madison will swap these for bolt through ones if you ask.

hmmm I rang Madison and the tech guys were busy so she took my number as they would ring me back......................... nothing yet. I just wanted to find out where I stood before I rang Madison and the LBS to see if one of them had been diddling me out of drop out options.

Wonder how much these pieces of metal will set me back.... £20 seem about right and then I'll need an axle unless i go for the interesting looking bolt in option that hope do!

Any difference between 10mm & 12mm drop outs?

Your frame should come with one set of standard QR Drop outs fitted. If you ring Madison and tell them you have 12 mm bolt thru wheels they will send you a set of 12 mm drop outs F.O.C. They wont give you a second set of the ones you've already got.

While we're on the subject of drop outs, i'm thinking of getting some made up - be far cheaper than  buying them from Madison.  But, does anyone know who would make these sorts of things?

On the subject of dropouts. Does the 2010 meta use the same maxle kit as my old '08 frame?
