hi i just got a meta 5.5 uk 2009 and love it. put new bars and stem on today been out for a rip i think it a mega bike gets me down all the talk about the frames cracking there must be a lot of you out there with 08 - 09 with no cracks so come lets hear the good news  |

08 black frame. No cracks at least non that I can see. few rides behind with a 160mm fork lets hope it holds. Now wish the chainsteys would be longer but that happens only when climbing super steep spots so general feeling is I'm loving it even more now!

I have the 09 Meta55 UK in a small frame, what a brilliant machine.... have been pushing it hard these last few weeks, No cracks as yet as far as i can see....

just pimped mine up with white tioga surefoot pro pedals, white odi yeti lock on grips and easton ea 70 mid riser bars. a white stem will come soon and shes sexy man...cant wait for santa.

Been hammering my 55uk since summer and love it! Upgraded the stem but not the bar yet, hoping santa might bring me one. No sign of cracks yet but had to sort out nasty creak from suspension linkage which drove me nuts for ages and took a while to pin down (cheers ithnu!). Great bike, really pleased with it.  |

I've had an 05, 06, 07, 06, 07, 08, 08, 09, 08. None broke. I weigh 16stone, ride hard, land harder. I've run them with everything from 125 - 160mm forks. RP2, RP23, DT Swiss, DHX out back.
Never had one break.

I've only ever seen a few passing comments on other forums about the problems with the Meta & would be interested to see the numbers that have had to be replaced & how they fare against other manufacturers this year. I don't go out of my way to read about Whyte 120's but I've seen more adverse comments about them in the general media than I have Commie this forum excepted.
