Did a price ever get set for this? Just wondering how much it would be for a 2008 Meta 55 and roughly how much weight was saved.

I'm not sure if the new WMB is in the shops yet btw but the new carbon Meta got a nice writeup Wink Normal incoherrant moaning about geometry but all in all it sounded like a stiffer, lighter Meta.

Yeah, vaguely, 'maybe £400ish' was all I can recall being mentioned. I'd be surprised if it were that cheap to be honest. The lack of feedback seems bizarre, they could sell tons of these things I'm sure.

One month on, any news on this yet? I'd imagine a few would sell.

I spoke to a guy at Madiosn who deals with Commencals last week and asked about this - he said he hadn't heard anything about it and that he would be very surprised if Commencal sold them in the UK.  Certainly didn't sound the rumblings of something in the pipeline, which is a shame, cos im sure they'd sell quite a few.

Hi there,

I've been in touch with Commencal and Madison about the upgrade which is roughly around the £400-£450 mark mentioned earlier in this thread.

Madison - just this minute have replied saying:

"Any Commencal dealer will be able to get one for you. Also "Wheels Manufacturing" make an upgraded model which is supposed to be a bit stronger."

The Wheels Mfg website doesn't show any swingarm - but I'll e-mail and find out ... <probably no time today though>

Matt.

E-mailed Wheels Mfg and whilst they supply Madison with other items such as hangers, they do not make a carbon swingarm. Thought as much.

So, it's go to your local dealer and ask them to order and fit it for you, direct from Commencal.

""Any Commencal dealer will be able to get one for you. Also "Wheels Manufacturing" make an upgraded model which is supposed to be a bit stronger."

I suspect the person on the other end of the phone mis-understood what you were after. WM make a replacement hanger for the Meta5, old shape, which is a tiny bit stronger supposedly, but not a swingarm, alu or carbon.

The after market carbon swingarm will be available, cost £399, but don't expect it anytime soon as they're is a massive shortage of them for production bikes.

Just carbon rare I'd say.
