Been told by Evans Cycles that Madison are getting Large Meta frames in on 23rd November - anyone else heard rumours surrounding this date?

Hope its true - when mine returns i'm gonna build it up with the following parts -

Shimano Saint Chainset (Single Ring)   - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31984

BlackSpire Stinger                              - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17282

Shimano XTR Cable Set                      - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1597

Lizzard Skin Lock-On Grips                   - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=33270

Race Face Atlas AM Stem (70mm)       - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19508

Maxxis High Rollers (F 2.5)                   - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=4611
Maxxis Ardent (R 2.35)                        - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31276

I also have avid codes and will be adding these levers to them - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=23200

Only question is will the saint chainset work with a Sram 9 sp rear cassette?  What chain would i need?

Mega bling levers - think 'lectrogirl has them also.
Can't think of any reason why the Saint chainset (does that include a bash?) wouldn't work with SRAM.
I'm running XT cranks, double'n'bash, with a SRAM supershort. Works just fine.
Any 9 speed chain of your choice.

Damn good choice with the tyres mate. Make sure you get the super tackey front high roller, you won't be disappointed.

Oh yeah and i would choose the Sram chains cause they are fairly strong and long lasting, but tht powerlink is sooo useful

cheers guys - looking at adding this chain

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25422

Also, i'm numb when it comes to setting up a single speed at the front - the saints come with a bash and bottom bracket, so do i only need a single stinger?  Most chain guides have rollers top and bottom, so im a bit confused.

I also want to convert the rear wheel to 12mm bolt thru, and eventually upgrade the fox lowers from 9 mm QR to 15 mm Maxle

If you are running a single ring then the stinger wont work. It relies on the front mech to hold the chain on at the top. Without a front mech it will just rattle off.
I had a KMC chain, and I though it was c***. It only lasted a few months. I now have a SRAM PC-991 which I have used for a long time. I only changed to KMC because of the reviews.

Sounds good, i'm just thinking that the codes are slightly OTT for the meta..

yeah the codes are a lot of brake - but i've ran them on the meta for the last 12 months, and i wouldn't choose any other brakes over these now.

With regards the saint chainset - is the only way to run them to use a front mech that is locked into the correct position with the H and L screws?

Yeah, that would work.

I have just got some Hope Tech M4's which are amazing. They are the best brakes I've ever used, but I haven't tried Avid Codes.

The Hope M4 are sweet too - my mate has them on his pitch.

Is there an alternative to using the front mech?

A full chain guide unfortunately. They aren't cheap.

What £30 guide fits a Meta? I thought it was only a Gamut £90ish or an E Thirteen £80+.
