Foegive me if this an old discussion but, does anyone have any solution to the question of protecting the swingarm on the new Meta{5 specifically} other than wrapping an old tube round there?  It seems a shame to hide away such a beautiful piece of bike under old rubber...

Big chainstay protector (or possibly two joined together), or you can go for something stick on, such as helitape, or the stick-on patches you get for protecting the frame.

Depends how effective you want it. The Neoprene chainstay protectors are the most effective. Anything stick on will usually need replaced periodically as it wears through.

what does everyone use to protect the top part of bb? My chain has fell off twice and on the second time, it's managed to take off some paint.

Twas only after I'd fitted the bit of inner tube that I noticed that the 08 VIP frame already has a strip of clear patch to protect the swing arm. D'oh! Same stuff you can get for motor bikes to protect paintwork.

Wrapped the swing arm with helicopter tape.  Clear, tough tape.  Works a treat.
