Hello,

I went up the track from Llanberis exactly 1 year ago, we cycled/pushed our way to the top. Hard work but satisfying once you reach the top.

Took about 3 hours!!! up and 45 min down with g-friend in tow.

There is an agreement that all cyclists must be off the mountain by 10am so if you go with that then it's a dawn set off. We stayed at this big white hotel (name escapes me) at the bottom of the track as you go into Llanberis which was handy.

Did not know you could take your bike up on the train  Cry

Anyway it was a good trip, check the weather. Our day started perfect then as we got near the top the clouds came in.

Have a good time.

Just do your research guys.. There's a ban on bikes at certain parts of the day in certain months.

I think the ban ends this month some time till march, where it stats again.

http://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/snowdn_volunt.htm

It has been agreed that between the hours of 10.00 am and 5 pm from 1st May to 30th September cyclists should not cycle on the Snowdon bridleways shown on the map below.

However after 30th September it's open all hours - with advisories on not racing, excessive speed, reckless riding etc.

I was pretty sure you couldn't take your bike in the train? ( otherwise it would be the best uplift in the UK! ).

I'll be up for that, although calenders with various rides are getting busy now. Perhaps we could have some diary thing on here where we can enter events and meets -HOW ABOUT IT MC is it possible (with virtual stickers to mark the dates cause physical stickers sure aint happenin;)) Huh?
