Here's a short video of me getting it seriously wrong on a short, sharp climb up some steps on a local trail I do a few times a week as my training run. They're considerably steeper than they look in the video. Bit of a panicky moment, the drop is near vertical down to the lake, hence my grab for the root. I've never cleaned that climb, bust my elbow open a few weeks ago falling the other way. Anyway, linky:

I'll do a proper video of some of the better parts of that trail when I get a chance. It's not all that technical, bar in a few spots, it's mainly just a good slog with a mix of terrain, great for fitness.

christ , I know those steps and is is a big drop down to the lake below.
A buddy of mine fell off on the exact same spot but we were coming  down the steps .I was on my meta and went straight down the middle , he was following on a hardtail a went down the side, went straight over the handle bars + was very lucky not to go all the way down for a dip in the lake. He nearly shit himself + of course I thought it was hillarious  Grin Grin Grin

        Yea I go to Killarney quite a bit + usually do the old kenmare road with other various bits thrown or maybe kilgarven but I prefer kilgarven on the dh bike .Great biking down that way.I am living out by Macroom so not far from Killarney.Give me a shout if you want to organise a spin.Am off th dunmanway this sat for some dh fun with uplifs
