Seeing as you've ridden the WC a lot, what is your opinion of it? I know it's a custom build so the spec is different but the ride should still be pretty similar.

Chris,
TBH I didn't instantly get on with it, not like I did when I got my previous V10.  I've played around with the suspension, headtube insert and rear travel adjust to get things feeling better, but I'm still not 100% that it feels as good as my V10 did.  I think it's because the Supreme is only available in the two sizes and I'm at the top end of the Sm/Med size, whereas the Med V10 is instantly correct geometry for me.   My mate is taller than me and has a lrge and he loves his, so I could just be in the awkward geometry 'zone', (I'm 1.7m tall).  I've still got the V10 and it would be interesting to test them back to back to see if there's is any time difference, if I have space I'll take it to Inners.

The RC4 shock is certainly much better than other available options, so I would recommend that if you have the available finances, although I think it's Std on the 2010 team frame. After 2 weeks of Whistler action it's fully bedded in and as smooth as butter, even when first fitted it instantly felt like the pushed DHX on the V10.

As far as durability is concerend, it's already taken a few heavy hits and is still straight and true.  Three of the Ticket2rideBC guides also have Supreme DH's and after 4 months of Bike Park, Northshore, Squamish and Pemberton 'battering' all are still rolling straight and true, the only problem they have had is getting spare adjustable mech hangers, but that's a Canadian supplier problem and nothing to do with the bike.

If you already have a supreme, you'll probably instantly love it as you'll be used to the geometry already.  However, coming from a DH bike that is arguably one of the best in the world onto the supreme, it didn't feel right at first, but then the supreme is a cracking bike in it's own right, it really boils down to personal preferrence.

I may have another dilema next year as I might be able to get a Lapierre, which I think looks the dogs, but I haven't clue how it rides.  May have to mug Danny next time I see him, he owes me a favour or two  Grin

Cheers dude... awesome write up!

I'm 1.73 tall so would you suggest going for the large frame? I ride a large Supreme frame although I do sometimes wonder if it's a bit too long for me.

If you can get the bike to Inners than that'd be peachy, if not then not to worry... as you say I've got a Supreme so the geometry change shouldn't be too much and it should just feel like a bigger version of mine.

The Supreme will Def be going to Inners as that's my No. 1 bike now.  I've only still got the V10 as I haven't had time to sort it out for selling.

If you're at inners you can have a go on my supreme which is a Sm/Md and I'll hunt down Scott Laughland for you to have a bounce on his, which is a Lrge, that way you'll know for Def what feels right.  I have the +1 head insert and the rear set to about half way for normal riding.  FW had the rear fully wound out and Llandegla at the minimum.  All the guides at Whistler who are taller than me had the +1 head and the travel at Max, but the tracks all all mainly fast & cruisy out there.

If the RC4 feels like a pushed DHX i wonder what a pushed RC4 would feel like  Wink

From my experiance of the Lapierre it felt just right, fitted almost fine, and i loved the way it rode, but others wont

Bong, I can't promise anything but if I can get you both together on one run, then you can both have a go.

No more requests now, I'm there to race not demo Commencal Grin

yeah rent it out per run.  Grin
Sorry to be a bit rude there by asking that, its just u seemed happy for a fellow commie fan to have a wee go on it so i thought i'd jump on the bandwagon, its not common to actually get a demo on such a bike except on the pavement outside a bike shop.

No you didn't, I wasn't there Tongue

Leatt was a pain with the Dainese armour, but works better with the POC.

There was a Junior rider on a black Socom, a master rider on a 'dyin' horse sunday and a female rider on a red 08 supreme.

You should have gone to Spec Savers  Grin
