yeah i have to agree the red is a bit undergraded,but only cos its got too many uphill sectons in it    i got off and pushed at them cos im lazy lol (u will prob see that in chris's edit of his helmet cam footage)
The black was epic...i was loving it!!!!  , its my 1st time riding it since i last raced there like 8years ago,lol.
Body armour? pah you only need that if u are going to fall off lol! tbh i reckon before my next trip up there next year i will have my armour for then, cos i intend on hitting it much faster (is that humanly possible? lol  ) then i was on sat and the injuries could end up being proper sore ones!

and yesterday was an expensive days biking for me  ended up having to shell out for new brakes cos my rear broke just as i was giving the bike a final once over on fri night, and seeing as the shops in fort bill are pretty pish,they never had any disc brakes for sale let alone spares for my oro's, so i made the drive to laggan and paid 250 for a pair of avid elixer r's. (i dont like having odd parts on my bike so it had to be a pair i bought lol) but on the upside they are superb brakes,the stopping power is insane,so so so so much better then the oro's!!!
So all in it cost me well in excess of 300 bucks (fuel etc too) for a days riding, but it was epic, good riding buddy and great conditons and weather, it was honestly like being back in morzine...just with out the muitzig

I'm back home now, 1100 miles for the round trip .

tried to ride Ae today, but my front brake got contaminated with my leaky forks.. (Chris and Bong will know how leaky they were)

Just cannot ride with a front brake that is majorly underpowered, and has ZERO power.

did half a run of the dh, and had to call it a day. One of the guys that was riding with on sat came to Ae, and he had a massive (Bout inch wide) blister on the palm of his hand, and two hits of the big stepdown saw him off for the day, his hand was in too much pain.

Another guy was sore from sat, as he came off pretty hard just before the deer fence on the DH at FB. Still pretty tight from FB, but i managed to get 7 full runs in, and also one mini run with a front snakebite on about the 5th corner.

ACE weekend though, weather was PERFECT bike was PERFECT and i didn't fall off once

And even though i didn't ride with Chris and Bong, i did chat to them, and bumped into them hald way down the trail .

I rode Ae on Saturday and hated every bit of it (or almost all of it)

I did one run of the shredder and didnt like it cause i dont like big rocks loosy tracks, although it may have grown on me, did the XC and there are only 2 decent decents both of which last no more than 30 seconds, and the rest i hated, all uphill

Sorry mate, i never got the camera out on the saturday at fort bill, was too busy riding, and trying to repair punctures as fast as possible!

Managed to get 2 more runs in after i saw you at the bottom when i had the flat, that means we got up and down in 25 mins just in time to get the last gondola up..

Oh, and i hope that Chris puts that teeny wee snippet of me in the vid too.. my hands were hurting at the point i met you on the trail. Oh, and twice i saw you and Chris on the two big rock gardens in the middle of the top section when going up on the gondola!

thats a coincidence - I was there on Saturday too.  The Ae Line is hard work, but over time your fitness will improve and even Nil Desperandum doesn't seem that bad.  Well it didn't to me this time anyway.  I was finished by half 12 tho.

There are some nice bits, but it doesn't flow together very well ... Especially where they have been deforesting, it's pretty bleak and the track is awfy bumpy!  I like the first part of Granny Greenluv and that boardwalk bits okay doke too, don't ya think?
