Bong, the parts of the FR tracks were closed for a short time last year or earlier this year, for resurfaceing, i saw them do it, as for more difficult trails, that is a definate, teh black is too far away  Tongue It would be great if they had a DH track or two, and hadnt closed off the natural trails at the side of the FR, but more to the point,

wouldnt it be great if they had a dual slalom or 4X track, it could be placed in between the essentials and cycopath FR tracks

The trailbuilding ban is mostly down to maintenance issues, and is a Scotland wide thing.

Over the past few years, there's been hundreds of km of new trail built over Scotland, but very few longterm plans were ever drawn up to cover the maintenance of a lot of those trails, and until the maintenance aspects are covered, the easiest way was to implement a ban on new trails.

As for why the wallride remains closed, I was told why, but it was told in confidence.
The person who told me isn't happy about everything being kept quiet, as they feel people would be more understanding if the reasons were made public, but management are choosing to remain tight lipped until a solution is fully agreed to.

Besides, it's not really a wallride. It's just a big berm.

Right that explains a bit, but in a sense trails dont need A LOT of maintanence, because its just wearing away the tarck, which makes it rougher, and much more fun, e.g. Spooky Wood. Its a shame its come down to this though

Glentress will get a DH trail probably about the same time inners gets a toilet, bike shop and cafe Tongue

They could probably make good a DH grade trail near the top of spooky as an alternative to the red descent but it will never happen i guess.

Yeah mate the lips are nice and sharp now so should give you pretty good kick into the air, they have also fixed the berm so you should be able to crank it right over now. There is nothing new there though but im heading back tomorrow probably so ill take a few pictures Smiley
